Reply to the article "A monoclonal antibody against HER-2 (trastuzumab) for metastatic breast cancer: a model based cost-effectiveness analysis", by J. Norum et al. (Ann Oncol 2005; 16: 909–914)

We were very much interested in Norum's paper [1Go] on the cost-effectiveness analysis of trastuzumab for metastatic breast cancer. The conclusion was that trastuzumab was not cost-effective in this setting. Some important points have to be discussed, which could modulate (on both sides) the results . . .
