We have previously demonstrated that combined treatment of breast cancer cells that co-express epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and ErbB-2 with the EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) gefitinib plus trastuzumab results in a synergistic antitumor effect [1Go].
