Zoledronic acid-associated thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura
| The first 10% of the full text of this article appears below. |
Although many cases are idiopathic, thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura-hemolytic uremic syndrome (TTP-HUS) sometimes occurs in association with cancer, drugs (cyclosporine A, mitomycin, quinine, ticlopidine, clopidogrel), pregnancy, autoimmune diseases, infection and bone marrow transplantation [1
]. This clinical heterogeneity poses a challenge to understanding the pathogenesis of TTP and selecting appropriate therapies.
